What is a Follow-up Sequence and how do I set one up?

A Follow-up Sequence automatically sends reminder emails to your leads on a schedule you set โ€” so no lead falls through the cracks.

Step 1 โ€” Go to Follow-up Plans and create a sequence
Click Follow-up Plans in the left sidebar. Click Create New Sequence and give it a name (e.g. "New Lead 7-day Follow-up").

Step 2 โ€” Add your steps
Each step has a delay (how many days after the previous step) and an email (subject + message). Add as many steps as you need. A typical sequence looks like: Day 1, Day 3, Day 7, Day 14.

Step 3 โ€” Assign the sequence to a lead
Open any lead's Quick View or full detail page. Find the Follow-up Sequence section, pick your sequence from the dropdown, and click Assign. The sequence starts from today.

Tips:

  • A lead can only be on one sequence at a time.
  • You can cancel or switch a sequence anytime from the lead's page.
  • Create different sequences for different lead types (web leads, phone leads, referrals).
